Engineer Hassan Al-Khatib, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, held a comprehensive meeting with ceramic manufacturers to address the challenges facing the industry and explore potential in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
The minister emphasized the
ministry's commitment to supporting the ceramic industry, a vital sector of the
Egyptian economy that drives local growth, exports, and job creation. He noted
that Egypt's competitive advantage in this industry stems from the high
percentage of local components and the availability of all industrial
requirements, including energy sources, raw materials, and qualified workforce.
The meeting focused on strategies to enhance the ceramic industry's competitiveness through export incentives and burden relief. This would facilitate increased exports, especially given the promising opportunities presented by free trade agreements with numerous countries. Additionally, the meeting addressed the challenges posed by dumping practices from foreign competitors.
