The Egyptian stock market opened higher on Monday, fueled by strong gains in Talaat Moustafa Holding Group's (TMG) stock. Following the company's announcement of record results this year, investor optimism lifted the main index. However, the EGX 70 and EGX 100 indices declined.
The EGX 30 rose 0.19% to 30,430 points, while the price-weighted EGX 30 gained 0.25% to 37,480 points. The EGX 30 total return index advanced 0.25% to 13,382 points. Meanwhile, the mid-cap EGX 70 slipped 0.08% to 8,446 points, and the small-cap EGX 100 edged down 0.01% to 11,558 points.
Talaat Moustafa Holding Group had previously announced in a disclosure that it had achieved record sales in 2024 exceeding half a trillion Egyptian pounds (approximately $10 billion), as of December 22, 2024.
