President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with Borge Brende, President of the World Economic Forum, and his delegation on Saturday. The meeting, attended by Prime Minister Dr. Moustafa Madbouly, Planning Minister Dr, Rania Al-Mashat, Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, and Investment Minister Hassan Al-Khatib, focused on Egypt's development efforts and its potential for investment.
President Sisi highlighted Egypt's significant strides in infrastructure, industry, and agriculture, emphasizing the numerous investment opportunities these sectors offer. Brende commended Egypt's economic reforms and investment attraction efforts, expressing the World Economic Forum's keenness to showcase Egypt's success story. President Sisi urged the Forum to encourage foreign private sector investment in priority areas such as industry, sustainable energy, communications, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and transportation.
The meeting also addressed regional issues. President Sisi outlined his vision for peace and stability in the Middle East, highlighting the negative consequences of the ongoing conflicts in Gaza and Lebanon and the potential global economic repercussions of escalation. The leaders emphasized the urgent need for an immediate ceasefire and a political process leading to an independent Palestinian state, a crucial step towards regional stability and development.
