Dr. Alaa Abdel Megeed, Chairman of the Health Care Providers Chamber at the Federation of Egyptian Industries, stated that the chamber is implementing a comprehensive training and qualification plan. The goal is to improve the operational efficiency of private healthcare providers, aligning them with international benchmarks for medical services.
This plan offers significant discounts on specialized training for chamber members. Key components include the "GAHAR" program, designed to optimize service delivery and management within medical institutions, and a thorough training course focused on Temos accreditation, which prepares facilities to participate in medical tourism.
In collaboration with the Health Accreditation and Control
Authority, the chamber will offer introductory courses across several
governorates, including Minya, Kafr El Sheikh, Matrouh, and North Sinai. These
courses will provide guidance on how to participate in the comprehensive health
insurance system, a crucial step for maintaining sustainable and
quality-assured health services. Members will receive timely notifications
regarding the schedule and venues.
Dr. Abdel Megeed further stated that consistent training for
medical and administrative personnel within hospitals and health facilities is a
cornerstone of sector advancement. Such training is critical for optimizing
performance and building patient confidence in provided services. He
highlighted the chamber's commitment to expanding training initiatives to
encompass cutting-edge technological developments in the health sector,
ultimately enhancing therapeutic and diagnostic capabilities.
The Chamber's Board of Directors meeting was attended by: Professor Dr. Alaa Abdel Megeed, Professor Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Hablas, Professor Dr. Ahmed Ezz El-Din, Mr. Moustafa El-Asmar, Professor Dr. Hany Hafez El-Sherif, Professor Dr. Mohamed Lotfy, Professor Dr. Ahmed Abu Al-Azayem, Professor Dr. Amr Hamza, Professor Dr. Ayman Hany, and Professor Dr. Khaled Samir.
Dr. Alaa Abdel Megeed announced that the Chamber will
formally request the equalization of health facilities with industrial
facilities concerning the postponement of real estate taxes on hospitals. He
emphasized that private hospitals provide essential community services,
justifying similar tax benefits to those granted to industrial entities. This
would alleviate financial strain and allow for reinvestment in service
improvement.
Furthermore, Dr. Abdel Megeed disclosed the Chamber's plan
to apply for the 15% reduced interest rate initiative, launched by the Council
of Ministers to support strategic sectors.
He highlighted the significant contribution of including health facilities in this initiative, stating it will support both current development operations and future expansions of private hospitals. This, in turn, will lead to enhanced medical services for citizens. He further explained that the Chamber is committed to working with relevant authorities to create a favourable environment for the private healthcare sector's growth and to advance Egypt's 2030 vision for health sector development.
