Framework cooperation agreement for elevator supply, assembly, and commissioning in Egypt

The Arab Organization for Industrialization, Talaat Moustafa Group (TMG), and Schindler Group have signed a partnership agreement to implement a program for localizing the supply, assembly, and testing of some elevator components for a number of development projects affiliated with the Ministry of Housing.

The Minister of Housing Dr. Assem ElGazzar and the Major General, Engineer Ahmad El Azzazi, Chairman of the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces, witnessed the signing ceremony of the framework agreement - for the supply, assembly, and testing of elevators - between Major General Engineer Mukhtar Abdel Latif, Chairman of the Arab Organization for Industrialization, Mr. Hisham Talaat Moustafa, CEO and Managing Director of Talaat Moustafa Holding Group, and Mr. Michael Doppler, Head of Contracts Department at Schindler Group.


Under this agreement, Schindler Group will implement a phased program for localizing specific elevator components. These components will be used in elevators supplied, assembled, and operated within Egypt for projects undertaken by the Ministry of Housing.

As part of this agreement, the Arab Organization for Industrialization and Talaat Moustafa Group will collaborate to establish a facility where Schindler will assemble and test the elevators. Upon completion, Schindler will leverage its technical expertise and management capabilities to assemble and install these elevators in various future national projects undertaken by the Ministry of Housing.

The agreement is expected to cover the supply of up to 5,000 elevator units annually over a 10-year period. This significant project will to create a substantial number of job opportunities in the local market. Additionally, the agreement includes a program for granting accreditation and professional licenses, which will enhance the skills of the Egyptian technical workforce.

Mr. Hisham Talaat Moustafa stated that this agreement aligns with national efforts to attract foreign investment and localize manufacturing. He pointed out that the Group's commitment to high-quality standards in its real estate and hotel projects is perfectly complemented by this partnership. Together with the Arab Organization for Industrialization and Schindler, they aim to deliver top-tier elevator systems for these projects.

Major General Engineer Mukhtar Abdel Latif expressed his pride in the collaboration between the Authority, Talaat Moustafa Group, and Schindler Company. He emphasized the Authority's commitment to attracting investments and fostering strong partnerships with leading Egyptian private sector companies and international firms.

He explained that the electric elevator manufacturing project underwent a thorough scientific and engineering evaluation. This project leverages the manufacturing capabilities of the Authority's Qader Factory for Advanced Industries and prioritizes maximizing the local component ratio throughout the project's implementation phases.

Concurrently, Mr. Michael Doppler, Head of Global Contracts Management at Schindler, expressed Schindler's pride in supporting this significant industrial project. They will do so by providing their expertise, management services, and high-quality vertical mobility solutions.
