Foreign Minister outlines Egyptian economic progress to US Envoy

Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, and Steve Witkoff, the US Special Envoy for the Middle East, held a phone call today, Monday. They discussed the strong strategic bilateral relations between Egypt and the United States, as well as the evolving situation in Gaza.

Their conversation focused on the joint efforts by Egypt, the US, and Qatar to secure the release of hostages, de-escalate tensions, and solidify the Gaza ceasefire agreement.

Minister Abdelatty updated the US envoy on Egypt's comprehensive modernization and development initiatives, led by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, highlighting recent achievements and the positive macroeconomic indicators recognized by international institutions, including the IMF.

Mr. Witkoff acknowledged the close ties between the two nations and Egypt's crucial role in regional security and stability. He further praised Egypt's collaborative efforts with Qatar to secure hostage releases and reinforce the Gaza ceasefire.
