Engineer Karim Badawy, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Wealth, discussed with Tom Maher, President of the American company Apex, the company's role in Egypt and its expansion plans. The focus of the conversation was on accelerating business growth in Egypt, intensifying research and exploration activities, and increasing production.
During the meeting, Badawi
emphasized that boosting domestic production of essential commodities is paramount
for the priority sector and alleviating import pressure. He highlighted the
significance of collaborative teamwork and integration in achieving substantial
benefits for the public. Badawi also noted the crucial role of advanced
technology in increasing production and reserves, citing the American company
as an exemplary model for production growth, particularly in recent years.
The president of Apex
International Energy outlined the company's expansion plans and drilling
programs for the upcoming period. He noted that the company has successfully
drilled 13 wells in its Western Desert concession areas and expressed the
company's commitment to investing further in expanding its operations.
It is noteworthy that Apex
operates in Egypt's Western Desert, specifically in the areas southeast of
Meleiha, Ras Qattara, East El Obeid, southwest of Meleiha, and east of Siwa.
The meeting was attended by geologist Alaa Al-Batal, CEO of the Petroleum Authority, Engineer Samir Raslan, Undersecretary for Agreements and Exploration, and Engineer Ahmed Mostafa, Undersecretary for Production.
