The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, in partnership with E-Markets Egypt (a subsidiary of E-Finance), has successfully completed the digitization and operation of the Abydos Temple in Sohag Governorate. This significant achievement marks the 100th archaeological site or museum to be digitized under the Ministry's initiative.
Key highlights of the project
include comprehensive digitization: The project encompassed the development and
digitization of the entire ticket booking system, enabling tourists to purchase
tickets with bank cards and facilitating entry to archaeological sites.
The process also included
enhancing the visitor experience by installing self-service machines in the
Valley of the Kings. These machines allow visitors to purchase additional tomb
tickets without having to return to the visitor center. The digitization
process is anticipated to increase revenue collection for the Supreme Council of
Antiquities.
Dr. Khaled Sharif, Assistant
Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for Digital Transformation, announced that
the successful development and digitization of the Abydos Temple marks a
significant milestone, completing the modernization of 100 archaeological sites.
This achievement is a testament to the collaborative efforts of the Ministry of
Tourism and Antiquities and E-Markets Egypt, representing a pivotal step in the
Ministry's broader digital transformation strategy.
Ibrahim Sarhan, Chairman and
Managing Director of the E-Finance Group, expressed pride in the group's
contribution to Egypt's digital transformation strategy. He highlighted the
group's expertise and infrastructure in driving digital transformation across
various sectors.
Sarhan further emphasized E-Finance's pivotal role in supporting and implementing Egypt's digital transformation agenda. The group, along with its subsidiaries, is proud to contribute expertise and resources to modernize various economic sectors. E-Finance's team of highly skilled professionals, coupled with its advanced digital infrastructure, positions it as a key player in accelerating digital innovation and transformation throughout the country.
