President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met Wednesday with Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Lieutenant General Ahmed El-Shazly, Chairman of the Armed Forces Financial Affairs Authority, Engineer Bakr El-Bayoumi, Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technology, and Major General A.H. Hani Mansour, Director of the Signal Department of the Armed Forces.
During
the meeting, the President was updated on the progress of data center and cloud
initiatives in Egypt, aligned with the country's digital strategy and building
on the launch of major data centers last April.
In this context, the President supported the government's initiatives to foster a conducive environment for global investment, leveraging Egypt's advancements in technology and information infrastructure, and in recognition of the sector's strategic importance to the nation.
Official
spokesman for the Presidency, Ambassador Ahmed Fahmy, stated that President Sisi
directed the team to intensify
efforts to bolster the nation's capabilities in data center and cloud computing
investments. This would leverage Egypt's strategic advantages, including its
robust infrastructure and prime geographical location at the intersection of
African, Asian, and European data and communications cables. His Excellency
also emphasized the continued need to cultivate the technical skills of
Egyptian youth, fostering a digitally proficient workforce capable of competing
effectively in domestic and international markets
