Prime Minister Dr. Moustafa Madbouly clarified on Wednesday that his previous statement about a 'war economy' did not imply that Egypt would enter into a war.
In a press conference following a
cabinet meeting in the new administrative capital, Prime Minister Madbouly
emphasized that Egypt's foreign policy remains steadfast. He reiterated the
country's commitment to peace but warned that any direct threat to its
sovereignty or vital interests would be met with a resolute response. Madbouly
stressed that Egypt's military forces exist solely to defend the nation if it
faces a direct threat.
Madbouly explained that his earlier statement about prioritizing national security reflects the government's commitment to safeguarding the basic needs of Egyptian citizens. He warned that any escalation of the regional conflict, particularly targeting critical infrastructure like oil and nuclear facilities, could have severe consequences. These repercussions would include rising prices for essential goods and ensuring the arrival of products regardless of their price.
