Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Dr. Sherif Farouk held a meeting on Sunday with Janusz Musialski, CEO of Virom Egypt for Silos and Storage, to discuss plans to localize the manufacturing of grain silos in Egypt.
The meeting took place within the
framework of the ministry's strategy to localize the silos industry in Egypt in
cooperation with the Polish company Virom. The Minister emphasized the
importance of exchanging expertise with global companies, along with the need
to strengthen cooperation with the private sector in the ministry's files.
Farouk emphasized the
ministry's commitment to fostering public-private partnerships, encouraging
investment in all sectors, and providing full support to investors. The
ministry aims to streamline processes and eliminate obstacles to facilitate
business growth.
The meeting delved into the
specific steps required to establish a new factory dedicated to localizing the
silos industry in Egypt. This initiative is crucial for advancing the domestic
manufacturing sector and boosting grain storage capacity, particularly for
wheat.
Attendees included Major General Walid Abu al-Magd, Deputy Minister of Supply and Internal Trade; Karim Sami, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Samcrete Egypt; Dr. Ashraf Sadek, CEO of the Holding Company for Silos; Ahmed Kamal, Assistant Minister and official spokesperson for the Ministry; Engineer Rafik Kamal, Executive Director of Business Development at Samcrete for Silos; and Khaled Mansour, General Manager of Financial and Administrative Affairs at East Port Said for Main Development.
