Engineer Karim Badawy, the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, received a delegation from the Canadian company Aton Resources, headed by its President, Tono Fah.
During the meeting, the company's efforts to explore and search for gold in its concession area of Abu Marawat in the Eastern Desert, located within the Nubian Shield region, were discussed.
Badawy affirmed that the ministry
provides all support to the company to implement its strategic projects that
will benefit the Egyptian economy. He expressed his appreciation for the
company's commitment to the specified implementation timelines and its desire
to inject more investments into Egypt.
The company's president
highlighted the significant discoveries made at the Abu Marawat area, including
Hamama and West Rooderwein. He reaffirmed the company's strong commitment to Egypt
and its plans to increase investments. A key focus is the establishment of a
state-of-the-art gold extraction and processing plant, equipped with
environmentally friendly technologies. This plant will not only maximize gold
extraction but also recover other valuable minerals, ensuring efficient
utilization of the mine's resources. The company aims to position the mine as a
global benchmark and a resounding success story.
The meeting was attended by prominent figures from the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, including Geologist Yasser Ramadan, Head of the Mineral Resources Authority, Engineer Moataz Atef, Deputy Minister for the Technical Office and the Minister's Office, and Dr. Mohamed El-Bagoury, Director General of Legal Affairs. The Canadian company's delegation was led by Sherif Barakat, the company's general manager.
