Minister of Industry and Transport, Engineer Kamel El-Wazir made an inspection tour of the industrial zone in the 10th of Ramadan City in Sharqia Governorate.
Minister El-Wazir embarked on a comprehensive tour of various manufacturing sectors, including electrical industries, textiles, sanitary ware, and fire extinguishers in addition to inspecting the "Elsewedy Pyramids" industrial complex for developing industrial zones and Elsewedy meters factory "Eskramco".
A key highlight was his visit to the ABB
Electrical Industries factory, where he inspected production lines for a wide
range of electrical equipment, including integrated kiosks, transformers, and
distribution stations. This state-of-the-art facility, with an impressive
production capacity and a focus on exports, underscored the government's emphasis
on industrial growth and development.
The ABB factory, spanning 80,000
square meters and boasting a production capacity of 240,000 units annually, was
established with an investment of 800 million Egyptian pounds. Employing 931
workers, the factory plans to export 50% of its output to Germany, Italy,
England, Greece, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and several African nations.
During the tour, a significant
step was taken: a training center from the ministry's Productivity and
Vocational Training Authority will be allocated to ABB. Under the company's
supervision, this center will develop specialized curricula and train highly
skilled graduates to meet the factory's workforce needs.
To enhance employee well-being
and productivity, the minister directed the provision of buses to transport
workers to and from the nearest light rail transit (LRT) stations. Furthermore,
he emphasized the importance of improving infrastructure in industrial zones,
including roads, gas, water, sewage, and electricity services, mirroring the advancements
achieved in the Tenth of Ramadan City.
The minister subsequently toured
the facilities of the Eastern Weavers Group, a prominent player in the spinning
and weaving sector. He was warmly welcomed by the governor of Sharqia, Yasmin
Khamis, the chairwoman of Eastern Weavers for Carpets, and other company
officials. The tour encompassed the Farid Khamis Museum, the historic
"glass pyramid" (the first loom), Yarn Factory 1, the CRM carpet
factory, and the modernized warehouse.
The Eastern Weavers Group stands
as a global leader in textile and carpet manufacturing. With factories covering
over one million square meters, an annual production capacity exceeding 150
million square meters, and a workforce of more than 19,000 employees, the
company dedicates approximately 65% of its output to international markets.
El Wazir continued his inspection
tour at the Global Sanitary Ware Company "Gawad," where he was
welcomed by Dan Munyuza, the Rwandan Ambassador to Cairo, and Engineer Mohamed
El-Sallab, a member of the House of Representatives. The minister toured the
factory's production lines, observing the mold design process, CNC machining
operations, and the metal foundry. He then inaugurated the new electric coating
line, a significant addition to the factory's capabilities. The
"Gawad" factory, spanning 11,899 square meters, boasts an annual
production capacity of 1.25 million pieces and provides employment for 150
individuals.
Next, the minister visited the
Bavaria Industrial Complex, a leading manufacturer of fire safety equipment and
waste management solutions. The complex produces a diverse range of products,
including fire cabinets, welded metal pipes, and waste collection bins made
from engineering polymers. With an area of 36,000 square meters and employing
856 workers, the Bavaria Complex generates annual sales of approximately 2.5
billion Egyptian pounds. The minister toured the production lines, including
injection molding for plastic waste bins, sheet metal fabrication, and
automated warehousing. He also visited the Bavaria Delta factory, specializing
in the production of drinking water supply pipes and related components.
Concluding his tour, the Minister visited Elsewedy Pyramids industrial complex, a sprawling development encompassing an industrial zone with 45 diverse manufacturing facilities and a dedicated logistics and commercial area. A key highlight was his visit to the Eskramco Swedish meters factory, which occupies 50,000 square meters, employs 500 individuals, and boasts an annual production capacity of 3 million meters, with 50% of its output destined for export markets.
