Ezz Elarab Group launches electric smart cars

Ezz Elarab Group announces the official launch of luxury electric smart cars in the Egyptian market. The company has unveiled SUV models "1" and "3," each with a sporty "Brabus" version. The company stated that the official prices for the models to be launched in Egypt will be as follows:

Smart #1

The "Hashtag One" car falls under the subcompact SUV crossover category. Its production version debuted in April 2022. Resulting from a joint venture between Mercedes and the Geely Group, Mercedes oversaw the vehicle's design, while Geely handled engineering and production.

The electric #1 is launched in the Egyptian market with three core trims, alongside a sporty "Brabus" version. The agent offers a 5-year warranty on the vehicle and an 8-year warranty on the battery. Prices are as follows: Pure+ category: 1,890,000 EGP; Pro+ category: 2,140,000 EGP; Premium category: 2,290,000 EGP; and Brabus category: 2,440,000 EGP

The electric motor generates 268 horsepower with a peak torque of 284 Nm. Acceleration from zero to 100 km/h takes 6.7 seconds, and its top speed reaches 180 km/h. Notably, the sporty Brabus trim boasts 422 horsepower and 543 Nm of torque, achieving a 0-100 km/h sprint in 3.6 seconds.

The Pure+ trim features a 49 kWh battery, enabling a range of up to 420 kilometers. The Pro+ and Premium trims utilize a 66 kWh battery, with respective ranges of 418 and 440 kilometers. All trims support 10-80% fast charging within 30 minutes.

The "Smart Hashtag One" is available in three exterior colors: white, black, and gray. Interior highlights include a 12.8-inch central screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, parking sensors, front and side airbags, and lane-keeping assist.

Smart #3

The Smart #3 was unveiled in June 2023 as the second model from the Smart brand following its German-Chinese alliance. Positioned as a compact SUV crossover, it's larger than its #1 sibling despite sharing the same SEA platform developed by the Geely Group for electric vehicles. This platform underpins other models like the Volvo EX30 and Zeekr X.

The electric Smart #3 is available in the Egyptian market in three trim levels: Pro+, Premium, and the sporty Brabus. All models enjoy the same warranty as the #1. Pro+: 2,290,000 EGP; Premium: 2,490,000 EGP; and Brabus: 2,690,000 EGP

While the horsepower remains consistent with the #1 at 268 hp, the #3 boasts increased torque of 343 Nm. This translates to quicker acceleration, reaching 0-100 km/h in 5.8 seconds for the standard trims and an impressive 3.7 seconds for the Brabus.

The Pro+ and Premium trims utilize the same battery capacity found in the #1, but offer extended ranges: 435 km for Pro+ and 455 km for Premium. The Brabus version has an estimated range of 416 km. All models can be recharged from 10% to 80% using a fast charger within 30 minutes.
