Minister of Housing discusses technology transfer with French companies

During his official visit to France, Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, held a meeting with the CEO of Onspec Engineering and Contracting Company and the Regional Director of the global company Rehlko (formerly Kohler) in Egypt and the Middle East. The meeting also included representatives from other relevant companies.

The primary focus of the discussions centered on exploring avenues for joint cooperation in transferring expertise in the manufacturing of electric generators to Egypt. This aligns with the Egyptian government's strong commitment to localizing industries and deepening technological capabilities.

El-Sherbiny emphasized that this initiative aims to enhance the efficiency of current and future housing projects by leveraging advanced technologies. The meeting specifically explored the transfer of Rehlko's expertise in manufacturing electric generators, given their significant role in supplying units for water and wastewater treatment plants. This aligns with the government's vision to reduce import dependency and foster local industrial development.

The meeting reviewed Rehlko's range of power generation units, spanning from 1 to 4500 kilo volt-amperes. Potential applications for these units were discussed, particularly in projects undertaken by the Ministry of Housing, the New Urban Communities Authority, and the "Decent Life" presidential initiative.

The Minister stressed the importance of training Egyptian technical personnel on the operation and maintenance of these units to ensure their long-term efficient and reliable operation.

It is worth noting that Rehlko, with its manufacturing facility in Brest, France, is a renowned global player in the power generation sector.
