Prime Minister Dr. Moustafa Madbouly met with Minister of Communications and Information Technology Dr. Amr Talaat on Sunday to discuss efforts to promote digitalization. He addressed the implementation status of plans to expand the automation of government services, focusing on the "Digital Egypt" platform, aiming to achieve the state's goal of providing various services digitally. He also explained the details of the services to be launched soon through the platform and their timeline.
The Minister of Communications and Information Technology addressed the Ministry's efforts to provide technical support to various government initiatives, highlighting the important role played by automating company establishment and licensing procedures, as well as the ongoing coordination for launching the "Unified Services Card," in addition to existing training programs to develop the digital and technical capabilities of those providing various services.
He also reviewed the results of his
participation in the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025, which was recently held
in Barcelona, Spain. MWC is the largest annual global event bringing together
stakeholders in the communications and information technology industry
worldwide.
The Minister attended on the celebration of
Ookla, a global leader in internet speed measurement and evaluation, to receive
the award for Egypt as having the fastest fixed internet in Africa in 2024, which
crowns the efforts made to develop digital infrastructure across the country.
At the conclusion of his participation in the event, he held extensive discussions with officials from several global companies to attract new investments in outsourcing and enhance cooperation in digital capacity building, artificial intelligence, and support for startups. He also held meetings with international government officials to discuss opportunities to advance joint cooperation frameworks.
