Prime Minister Dr. Moustafa Madbouly held a meeting Thursday to follow up on the implementation of the plan to secure the basic needs supporting agricultural development projects in the New Delta and North and Central Sinai.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister emphasized President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's directives to ensure the provision of all necessary resources for these new agricultural land reclamation projects. This aims to accelerate the completion of these vital development projects and enhance their positive impact on achieving food security.
Counselor Mohamed El-Homosany, the official Cabinet
spokesperson, announced that a meeting assessed the development of water
sources for new agricultural projects utilizing treated agricultural drainage
water in the New Delta and central and northern Sinai. This included included
the water conveyance route, the expansion of tertiary wastewater treatment
plants and pumping stations, and the implementation of modern irrigation
systems to minimize water loss.
El-Homosany further reported that the meeting addressed the
implementation of electrical power supply projects for agricultural land
reclamation infrastructure in the New Delta and central and northern Sinai.
This included a review of the progress in establishing necessary transformer
substations for all land reclamation areas.
Attendees included Dr. Hani Sweilem, Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, Engineer Mahmoud Esmat, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, Dr. Sayed Ismail, Deputy Minister of Housing; Engineer Mona Rizk, Chairperson of the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company, Dr. Ahmed Medhat, Head of the Minister's Office Sector at the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation, Engineer Nehad Morsy, Assistant Minister of Planning and Economic Development for Infrastructure Affairs and International Cooperation and officials from relevant ministries.
