Prime Minister Dr. Moustafa Madbouly convened a meeting today, Sunday, to review collaborative work files between the Ministries of Finance and Petroleum and Mineral Resources.
Ministerial spokesperson, Counselor Mohamed Al-Homosany, stated that the meeting covered key files, including initiatives to meet domestic petroleum needs through production and exploration. Discussions also centered on maximizing petroleum resource value for the national economy and strategies to revitalize the mining sector.
The meeting also addressed new and renewable energy, a key
element of the state's sustainable development plan. Participants discussed
coordination to optimize the energy mix, boost Egyptian economic growth, and
leverage Egypt's strategic position for hydrogen production and energy trading.
The agenda included measures to strengthen regional
cooperation to attract investments to Egypt and the wider region, and efforts
to cultivate an attractive investment climate while prioritizing energy
efficiency and emissions reduction.
The official spokesperson also indicated that the meeting
reviewed natural gas and crude oil production levels, as well as production and
exploration plans in the Mediterranean Sea.
Ahmed Kouchouk, Minister of Finance attended the meeting as well as Engineer Karim Badawy, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Yasser Sobhi, Deputy Minister of Finance for Financial Policies, Sherine El-Sharkawy, Assistant Minister of Finance, Amal Tantawy, Deputy CEO of the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation for Financial and Economic Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Samir, Head of the Infrastructure Budget Sector, Ministry of Finance, and Magdy Mahfouz, Head of the Finance Sector, Ministry of Finance.
