Majid Al Futtaim opens its first Carrefour store in New Alamein

Counsel Masters, the company responsible for managing and operating North Square Mall, signed a contract with Majid Al Futtaim to open the first Carrefour store in New Alamein City within North Square Mall. The opening is scheduled to coincide with the mall's official opening next June.

The new Carrefour store extends over an area of 580 square meters. It will offer a wide range of products, including fresh and frozen foods, baked goods, and household products. The store’s space will be gradually expanded to meet the needs of the growing market, which will enhance the shopping experience for visitors and residents of New Alamein.

Dr. Sherif Farouk, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, praised the partnership between Counsel Masters and Carrefour Egypt as a model of successful private sector collaboration. He emphasized its contribution to the national economy and the strengthening of the domestic trade system, highlighting the importance of supporting private sector growth and expanding modern retail outlets to ensure diverse and competitively priced goods for consumers.

George Mitri, Chairman of Counsel Masters, emphasized that this partnership comes as part of a plan aimed at transforming El Alamein City into a sustainable tourist and economic destination, a fourth-generation city.

The North Square project is located in the New Alamein area, covering a vast area directly overlooking the Alamein Sea and the North Coast. The project includes a hotel with more than 80 rooms and 20 suites, in addition to a shopping mall housing more than 350 local and international brands.
