Madinaty, Katameya Dunes host Arab Junior and Ladies Golf Championship

The Egyptian Golf Federation will host the 24th Arab Junior and Ladies Golf Championship, held from May 7th to 10th. The tournament, under the auspices of the Arab Golf Federation, will be held at Madinaty Golf Club and Katameya Dunes Golf Club in Cairo.

The championship competitions features five age categories for boys and girls, in addition to a special category for ladies. These categories represent a wide range of championship history, with one marking its 24th edition and others their 16th, 5th, 4th, and 2nd consecutive times.

The championship is open to all member countries of the Arab Golf Federation: Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Tunisia, and the United Arab Emirates.

The championship aims to enhance and support golf in the Arab region, in addition to developing the game in general offering increased opportunities and higher-quality competitions for players from member federations, as well as for Arab players on the regional and international stage.

Omar Hesham Talaat, President of the Egyptian Golf Federation, expressed his satisfaction with the federation's role in hosting the inaugural amateur championship of the Arab Golf Federation's 2025 schedule. He said: "We are honored to organize the Arab Junior and Ladies Championship in collaboration with Madinaty Golf Club and Katameya Dunes Golf Club."

He further stated that this championship represents the first major regional championship held during the tenure of the new board of directors of the Egyptian Golf Federation. The Golf Federation has ambitious plans to set a new standard for hosting golf championships in Egypt, the Arab region, and North Africa, encompassing both amateur and professional levels. This will be achieved through cooperation with local, regional, and international golf bodies, in addition to professional golf tours from around the world.

"For the first time," Omar Hesham stated, "we are inviting the public to experience the Arab Junior and Ladies Championship. With a focus on attracting residents of Madinaty, we organize a 'Golf Festival' at Madinaty Golf Club on the sidelines of the championship events. The festival features recreational golf activities, as well as musical performances, aimed at attracting all age groups and introducing them to this sport in an enjoyable way.” He continued: "Our goal is to promote golf and inspire greater participation across all age groups."

He emphasized that the Egyptian Golf Federation looks forward to enhancing Egypt's position on the sports tourism map by organizing the championship at the highest level, hosting it at Cairo's exceptional golf courses, and ensuring a positive experience for all players, delegations, guests, and fans.

It is noted that entry to the championship is free, but prior registration is required.
