Minister of Petroleum to inaugurate Egypt Mining Forum on Tuesday

Engineer Karim El-Dawy, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, will open the third edition of the Egypt Mining Forum (EMF) tomorrow, Tuesday. The two-day Cairo-based forum will convene a diverse group of high-level officials, industry leaders, investors, major Egyptian and international companies, financial institutions, and mining exploration experts from Egypt and around the world.

The minister is slated to deliver the opening keynote address at the forum. During his speech, he is expected to outline a vision for Egypt's mining sector in the coming years. This vision will likely focus on enhancing the sector's performance and efficiency, ultimately attracting more investment to explore and exploit Egypt's diverse mineral resources.

With a focus on exploring untapped mining opportunities and new commercial discoveries, this year's Egypt Mining Forum aligns with the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources' plan. It promotes investment opportunities, highlighting its developments and the action plan to support the mining investment climate.

The forum serves as a platform for mining officials and international investors to collaborate and unlock Egypt's mineral potential. It also fosters cooperation with specialized companies and financial institutions to support the sector's development and modernization.

Over 4,000 attendees from 34 countries will converge on the Egypt Mining Forum this year. The event boasts a comprehensive conference and an accompanying exhibition featuring over 100 local and international companies.

Highlighting the forum's reach, 15 specialized discussion sessions are scheduled across two days, featuring more than 50 high-level speakers. These speakers include ministers, industry leaders, experts, and financial institution officials, offering a wealth of expertise for attendees.   

The forum will feature keynote addresses from government ministers Dr. Yasmine Fouad, Minister of Environment, and Dr. Ahmed Kouchouk, Minister of Finance. Joining them will be Dr. Saleh Kharabsheh, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and Dr. Haiki Harmgart, Director of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development for the Southern and Eastern Mediterranean region. Other notable participants include heads and officials of major global mining companies, along with geologist Yasser Ramadan, Chairman of the Egyptian General Authority for Mineral Resources, and the authority's leadership.
