Samsung has unveiled plans to develop groundbreaking batteries for electric vehicles that could redefine the industry. The tech giant claims these batteries will feature unprecedented specifications.
According to SamMobile, Samsung
SDI has successfully created high-performance solid-state batteries capable of
delivering an impressive range of up to 965 kilometers on a single charge and
recharging in a mere 9 minutes. The company's long-term goal is to produce
batteries with a lifespan of 20 years, making them suitable for both consumer
and commercial electric vehicles.
Samsung has been collaborating
with Hyundai and General Motors to test prototypes of its innovative new
battery technology. Due to their advanced specifications, these batteries are
anticipated to command a premium price when they launch in 2027, making them
primarily suitable for high-end electric vehicles.
As a leader in electronics, Samsung is continually pushing technological boundaries. Its expertise in high-performance processors and memory chips positions the company well to contribute significantly to the future of electric vehicle development.
