Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation, reviewed with Major General Khaled Mubarak, Governor of South Sinai, the progress of investment plan projects in South Sinai, highlighting key initiatives underway and those already completed. She also emphasized the region's attractive investment climate for both domestic and foreign investors.
During the meeting, the minister
underscored Sinai's strategic significance as a cornerstone of Egypt's
sustainable development strategy. She emphasized the governorate's substantial
natural and human resources, positioning it as a vital pillar of the Egyptian
economy.
The minister highlighted the
significant growth experienced by Sinai in recent times, attributed to
increased public investment in projects across the region and the Suez Canal
cities.
She outlined key development
programs slated for implementation in South Sinai Governorate during the
2024/2025 fiscal year. These initiatives encompass a wide range of sectors
including agriculture, irrigation, drinking water, transportation, storage,
education, and healthcare.
The Minister emphasized the critical role of macroeconomic stability in optimizing investment spending and maximizing economic and social returns. She explained that the Ministry is implementing an investment spending governance framework designed to facilitate greater participation from both domestic and foreign private sectors in various projects in Egypt’s governorates.
