The Egyptian government continues its efforts to diversify agricultural exports and boost the national economy. In a recent announcement, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, Alaa Farouk, revealed that Costa Rica has officially opened its market to Egyptian fresh onion exports.
Following successful negotiations
between the agricultural quarantine authorities of both countries, Dr. Mohamed
El-Mansy, Head of the Egyptian Agricultural Quarantine, confirmed the positive
outcome. The Agricultural Export Council and relevant exporters have been
notified, and the first shipment of Egyptian onions to Costa Rica is now ready
for inspection.
This development marks a significant milestone in Egypt's agricultural trade relations with Costa Rica. Egypt already exports grapes, citrus fruits, strawberries, medicinal plants, and certain vegetables to it.
