Mohamed Gobran, Minister of Labor, and Mohamed Zaazou, Egypt's new ambassador to Cyprus (who will assume his duties on October 16), discussed ways to enhance cooperation between Egypt and Cyprus on joint initiatives related to labor issues.
Gobran highlighted the ministry's
commitment to providing skilled Egyptian workers to meet the specific needs of
the Cypriot labor market. The minister emphasized that a bilateral labor
mobility agreement exists between Egypt and Cyprus, and stressed the importance
of intensifying joint efforts to fully open the Cypriot labor market to
Egyptian workers.
The minister also underscored the
Ministry's crucial role in training, monitoring, and educating young people
about their rights and responsibilities before they embark on employment
opportunities abroad.
In response, the ambassador commended the Ministry of Labor's efforts in vocational training, noting its comprehensive system in this area. The ambassador emphasized the significance of strengthening cooperation in all aspects of bilateral relations between Egypt and Cyprus in the coming period.
