The Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, chaired a meeting of the board of directors of the General Authority for Tourism Development.
The meeting approved the General
Authority for Tourism Development's financial performance for the fiscal year
2023-2024. Discussions also focused on accelerating the completion of hotel
units in ongoing tourism development projects. Other relevant topics were
addressed, and appropriate decisions were made.
Engineer Sherif El-Sharbiny
reaffirmed the Ministry of Housing's commitment to supporting tourism
development and investment companies through incentives. This aims to expedite
the completion of hotel rooms and units to meet the growing demand for tourism.
The Minister of Housing stated that the board of directors discussed the potential of allocating unused land to tourism development companies for the construction of solar power stations. These stations would provide clean energy to power hotels and tourism facilities, aligning with Egypt's broader goal of expanding renewable energy usage.
