Engineer Hassan Al-Khatib, Minister of Investment and International Cooperation, held a number of meetings with officials from various French institutions and companies interested in economic cooperation with Egypt.
The Minister met with officials
from the French Investment Development Agency (ANIMA), whose activities focus
on promoting the presence of French companies at the investment level in
regional and international markets, with a focus on the Middle East and Africa.
The agency has 19 member countries, and its activities include organizing
economic missions between member countries and exploring opportunities to
enhance the investment presence of companies in target priority sectors in each
country.
Al-Khatib also met with members
of the Marseille Chamber of Commerce, where the meeting aimed to discuss
opportunities to enhance trade cooperation with French companies in the
southern regions of France and increase the share of direct Egyptian exports to
France via the port of Marseille.
He also met with the chairman of the French CMA CGM Group, which operates in the shipping, transportation, and logistics sectors. The group is a development partner for Egypt in implementing a number of priority targeted infrastructure projects. The meeting discussed opportunities to enhance the investment presence of the French group in Egypt and support the logistics sector.
