According to a report by the Automotive Market Information Council (AMIC), the Peugeot 508 has taken the lead in medium sedan (Car-D) sales in Egypt during the first eight months of this year. It captured a market share of 66.1%, with 39 vehicles sold.
The Alfa Romeo Giulia came in
second with a market share of 30.5%, selling 18 vehicles. The Honda Accord and
Toyota Camry tied for third place in the medium sedan segment in Egypt from
January to August, with a market share of 1.7% each, selling one vehicle
apiece.
In the compact sedan segment
(Car-C), the Toyota Corolla led sales during the first eight months of the
year, capturing a market share of 28% with approximately 3,361 vehicles sold.
The BYD F3 came in second with a
market share of 25.1%, selling 3,020 vehicles, followed by the Hyundai Elantra
AD in third place with a 14% share, selling 1,680 vehicles. The Chery Arrizo 5
followed with a 10.9% share, selling 1,310 vehicles.
The Nissan Sentra secured fifth
place with a market share of 10.2%, selling 1,229 vehicles, followed by the
Renault Megane in sixth place with a 3.1% share, selling 377 vehicles. The Fiat
Tipo captured seventh place in the compact sedan sales (Car-C), recording a
market share of 2.3% after selling 282 vehicles, followed by the Ford Focus in
eighth place with a 1.8% share, selling 214 vehicles.
