Arab Contractors wins ENR awards for the 4th year

Engineer Sherif El Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, announced that The Arab Contractors, a prominent Egyptian construction company, has once again secured top honors at the prestigious Engineering News Record (ENR) Best Global Projects Awards.

For the fourth consecutive year, The Arab Contractors has been recognized for its exceptional work, winning two awards in 2024. One of the most notable wins was in the restoration category for the rehabilitation project of the historic Damietta Bridge.

This significant project, undertaken by The Arab Contractors on behalf of Damietta Governorate, was successfully completed and inaugurated by Prime Minister Dr. Moustafa Madbouly in April of this year.

This bridge is one of the oldest bridges in the world, having been built in 1890 on the Nile River in Imbaba. Interestingly, the bridge was constructed using the same equipment and iron as the Eiffel Tower in Paris. The development and rehabilitation works were undertaken to restore the bridge's vital role and maximize its utilization as a historical landmark registered with the Ministry of Antiquities. The aim is to transform it into an educational and cultural center for the people of Damietta Governorate.

Additionally, The Arab Contractors received the Merit Award for their outstanding restoration work on the Mosque of Sayyeda Zainab. This project was executed under the supervision of the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces - Military Works Department, on behalf of the Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf). President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi inaugurated the restored mosque in May, with the presence of the Sultan of Bahara in India.

Minister Sherif El Sherbiny expressed his heartfelt congratulations and appreciation to The Arab Contractors' chairman, board members, and employees. He commended their dedication and unwavering commitment to excellence, highlighting the company's pivotal role as an ambassador for Egypt's construction and building sector both domestically and internationally. He emphasized the Egyptian state's reliance on The Arab Contractors for various national projects.
