Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk has affirmed that Egypt is working to leverage international expertise in developing financing systems and managing urban development projects, through maximizing cooperation with international institutions to support various development projects in order to achieve sustainable and comprehensive urban expansion.
In his meeting with Anaclaudia
Rossbach,, Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations and Executive
Director of the UN-Habitat, the Minister explained that 'blended finance'
enhances the role of the private sector in achieving comprehensive urban
development, noting that the UN-Habitat plays a prominent role in integrated
and sustainable urban expansion at the regional level.
The Minister indicated that
providing the required financing ensures the achievement of sustainable urban
development goals, which is essential for providing job opportunities,
improving the living standards of citizens, finding solutions to the challenges
that may face the development process, and moving forward towards achieving the
Sustainable Development Goals 2030.

UN-Habitat, said that Egypt is making great efforts to organize the 'World
Urban Forum,' noting that the event is receiving all kinds of support and
assistance from the Egyptian government, and that work is underway to develop a
new sustainable system for cities; which contributes to increasing
competitiveness and supporting various development efforts.
She emphasized that the 'World Urban Forum' seeks to enhance ways to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030, ultimately leading to tangible results in the form of sustainable cities and communities, and improving the lives of citizens at all levels.
