Under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the twelfth session of the World Urban Forum kicked off today in Cairo, Egypt. The forum, themed "Everything Starts Locally - Let's Work Together for Sustainable Cities and Communities," is being held at the Manara International Convention Center.
A flag-raising ceremony marked
the official opening, attended by Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local
Development, and Anna Kajumulo Kabata, Deputy Secretary-General of the United
Nations and Executive Director of UN-Habitat. The event, organized by the
