High demand for "Housing for All Egyptians 5" Initiative

High demand for "Housing for All Egyptians 5" Initiative

Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, stated that the presidential initiative 'Housing for All Egyptians 5' for low- and middle-income citizens witnessed a tremendous response on the first day applications opened. This includes application form purchases and earnest money deposits for all citizens, encompassing those with disabilities.

Minister El-Sherbiny emphasized the continued availability of application forms in large quantities at all participating mechanized post offices. As announced previously, additional forms are being printed and distributed to meet the high demand from citizens and ensure easy access for everyone.

Mai Abdel Hamid, Executive Director of the Social Housing Fund and Real Estate Financing Support, reported that a remarkable 90,000 application forms were sold on the first day, along with 18,000 citizens completing their earnest money deposits.

Abdel Hamid reiterated that the application window remains open for a full month, ending on December 24, 2024. Application forms continue to be readily available at post offices throughout the country.

She clarified that the timing of application purchase does not impact priority. The Social Housing Fund utilizes a specific system for ranking applications. Priority is given in this order: the married and supporting a family comes first in priority, then the widow/widower and supporting a family, then the divorced/divorced and supporting a family, then the married and not supporting a family, then the single applicants (including divorced/widowed without dependents).

Priority is given to the smaller family in the case of the married/widower/divorced who supports a family, in the event of an equal number, and priority is given to the older.

To address the high demand and potential congestion, the Social Housing Fund has increased the number of participating mechanized post offices from 350 to 400. This aims to streamline the application process and ensure everyone can easily obtain a form. A detailed list of participating post offices is available at the following link: https://bitly.cx/QfOJhy
