Sharon Nishi, Chairperson and Managing Director of General Motors Egypt and North Africa, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to contributing to Egypt’s emergence as a regional automotive hub. She highlighted that General Motors will commence local assembly of a new passenger car in the Egyptian market in 2025.
This statement was made on the sidelines of the ninth edition of the “Egypt Automotive” summit, which specializes in the automotive sector. Held under the patronage of the Ministries of Industry, Investment and Foreign Trade, and Finance, the summit brought together industry leaders and automotive experts.
Nishi praised the achievements
made in the automotive sector and emphasized the company's commitment to
supporting the local economy. This reflects General Motors' vision for a more
sustainable and innovative future, aiming to position Egypt as a regional
automotive hub.
Earlier, General Motors Egypt
Group revealed its readiness to reintroduce the all-new Chevrolet Optra to the
Egyptian market after an absence of several years. The vehicle will be
assembled locally and officially launched in 2025.
