Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, announced the commissioning of the new October City substation. This substation boasts a capacity of 220/22/22 KV and a total power capacity of 375 MVA, and is now operational in New October City. He stated that this step aligns with the Ministry of Housing's commitment to providing a wide range of services within new cities.
He added that the station will serve housing projects, industrial areas, and various land plots, affirming the Ministry's continued efforts to develop infrastructure projects to serve citizens and investors in new cities.
In this context, Engineer Mohamed
Abdel-Maqsoud, head of the New October City Authority, explained that the
substation will serve housing projects within the "Housing for All
Egyptians" presidential initiative west of the airport, as well as
industrial and logistics areas in the city. He emphasized the authority's
commitment to implementing these projects with the highest quality standards
and adhering to the required technical specifications.
He added that these efforts are
in line with the state's vision to foster a conducive environment for
development, stimulate industrial and logistics growth, and ensure high-quality
service delivery for all citizens.
Abdel-Maqsoud visited October Airport,
accompanied by Engineer Eman Shabib, Deputy Head of the Authority, and Dr.
Engineer Rizk Mohamed, Assistant Head of the Authority. This visit aimed to
further strengthen the joint coordination and fruitful cooperation between the
New October City Development Authority and October Airport.
Airport officials commended the
City Authority for its successful implementation of major projects. They
specifically acknowledged the significant advancements in road infrastructure
surrounding the airport and the overall urban development within the city. The
officials expressed their gratitude for the productive and collaborative
partnership with the authority.
During the visit, Engineer Abdel-Maqsoud inspected the ongoing construction of roads surrounding the airport and those leading to the "Housing for All Egyptians" presidential initiative. The inspection focused on assessing the progress of work, identifying any potential obstacles, and reviewing the adherence to approved engineering specifications and timelines. He emphasized the critical importance of maintaining a rapid pace of construction to ensure the timely and high-quality delivery of these vital projects.
