Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid, Public Diplomacy Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry met with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov in Nizhny Novgorod on Monday. The meeting, held on the sidelines of the BRICS Foreign Ministers' gathering (June 10-11), included discussions on positive developments in bilateral cooperation, particularly progress in the Russian zone of the Suez Canal Economic Zone.
The Foreign Ministry spokesman said that the discussions of
Minister Shoukry centered around the current crisis in the Gaza Strip and ways
to resolve it, as well as developments in the Ukrainian war and the latest
developments in the crisis in Sudan.
Foreign Ministry Spokesman Abu Zeid stated that Minister Shoukry commended his Russian counterpart on the progress made in bilateral cooperation, highlighting the Russian zone in the Suez Canal Economic Zone and the advancements in the Dabaa project.
