Singapore has expressed strong interest in fostering cooperation between its companies and Egypt's military production sector, recognizing their exceptional capabilities and potential.
At a meeting today, Tuesday, with Minister of State for Military Production, Engineer Mohamed Salah El Din Moustafa, at the Ministry's General Division headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, Singaporean Ambassador Dominic Goh commended the Ministry's pivotal role in supplying the Egyptian Armed Forces with cutting-edge ammunition, weapons, equipment, and advanced electronic systems.
The Ambassador emphasized that
the eagerness of many Singaporean companies to collaborate stems from the
distinguished manufacturing and technical expertise of Egypt's military
production companies. He highlighted their vital role in advancing and
localizing modern technologies across various production sectors, recognizing
them as a cornerstone of Egypt's industrial landscape.
He expressed appreciation for the
Ministry of Military Production's efforts in establishing fruitful strategic
partnerships with numerous international companies and entities, both in the
military and civilian domains.
The meeting between the Minister
and the Singaporean Ambassador explored potential joint cooperation between
Egyptian and Singaporean military production companies across various
manufacturing sectors.
The Minister highlighted the
manufacturing, technological, and human capabilities of Egypt's military
production companies, emphasizing their role as a cornerstone of national
industry. He noted that these companies contribute significantly to national
development projects by utilizing excess production capacity.
The Ministry encompasses 15 industrial
companies, four companies specializing in other fields (including information
systems, construction, maintenance, and research support), a training sector, a
medical center, ammunition and weapons testing facilities, and an academy for
engineering and advanced technology.
The Minister welcomed the recent surge in Singaporean investments in Egypt, recognizing Singapore as the fifth largest Asian investor in the country.
