President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met today, Tuesday, with Dr. Moustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, Hassan Abdullah, Governor of the Central Bank, Lieutenant General Ahmed El-Shazly, Head of the Armed Forces Financial Affairs Authority, and Major General Ahmed Al-Azzazi, Head of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority.
The official spokesman for the Presidency stated that the meeting discussed the Central Bank's efforts to modernize Egypt's financial sector. Key topics included the development of robust digital infrastructure and regulatory frameworks to support financial technology (FinTech) and digital payments. This aligns with the Egyptian government's broader digital transformation strategy.
Ambassador Bassam Rady, the
official spokesman, pointed out that the meeting discussed enhancing financial
inclusion for all citizens and ensuring the integration of all economic sectors
into the digital economy.
The President emphasized the importance of aligning with rapid technological advancements in digital banking. This includes providing customers with secure and advanced electronic payment services that meet the highest global standards. This initiative aims to foster sustainable development, drive digital transformation, and improve key economic indicators.
