Upon concluding his visit to Port Sudan, Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, convened a collective meeting on Wednesday evening with Sudanese Ministers of Health, Transport, Justice, Finance, and Economic Planning. Dr. Ali Youssef Al-Sharif, the Sudanese Minister of Foreign Affairs also participated in the meeting.
During the meeting, Minister Abdelatty and the Sudanese ministers lauded the longstanding historical ties and the close fraternal bond between Egypt and Sudan. They explored avenues to enhance joint cooperation in diverse sectors, including health, transportation, communications, finance, the economy, and justice, to mutually benefit both nations.
Furthermore, they expressed their
aspiration to increase the frequency of high-level visits between the two
countries in the forthcoming period to capitalize on the promising potentials
and opportunities available to both Egypt and Sudan.
Minister Abdelatty and the
Sudanese ministers expressed their aspiration to convene the second business
forum in Sudan in the near future. This initiative aims to bolster economic,
trade, and investment relations between the two countries, thereby
strengthening economic ties and fostering cooperation between the private sectors
of both nations.
Abdelatty addressed the issue of reconstruction in Sudan during the post-ceasefire period. He emphasized the remarkable capabilities of Egyptian companies in various sectors, highlighting their acquired expertise and the numerous development projects they have undertaken across Africa in construction, energy, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, and food industries. He underscored the potential of these companies to play a crucial role in supporting Sudan's development aspirations.
