Prime Minister Dr. Moustafa Madbouly met with Henrik Braun, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Coca-Cola, on the sidelines of his participation in the World Economic Forum “Davos 2025”, on behalf of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
The meeting was attended by Engineer Hassan Al-Khatib, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, and Mohamed Negm, Egyptian Ambassador to Switzerland.
Madbouly affirmed Egypt's commitment to supporting the
existing partnership with Coca-Cola and fostering the company's investments in
the Egyptian market. He highlighted the government's readiness to provide
incentives to enhance these investments, emphasizing the ongoing efforts to
support the private sector. The Minister of Investment pledged full support to
Coca-Cola's operations.
The Prime Minister also outlined the government's economic
reforms, including measures to stabilize the exchange rate, boost tourism, and
increase exports. Notably, Egyptian commodity exports grew by 15% last year. He
further emphasized Egypt's efforts to promote regional stability, particularly
in Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories.
Henrik Braun, representing Coca-Cola, expressed appreciation
for the partnership with Egypt, acknowledging its strategic importance in
Africa. He affirmed the company's commitment to strengthening this partnership
and expanding joint cooperation.
The Minister of Investment and International Trade reiterated
the government's support for Coca-Cola's investments, outlining ongoing efforts
to address any challenges they may face. He highlighted initiatives to improve
the investment climate, such as reducing customs clearance time.
Coca-Cola representatives announced their selection of Egypt as a regional digital hub, emphasizing the importance of regional stability for their investment plans. They also underscored the company's commitment to social responsibility through the implementation of various community service projects.
