The Board of Directors of the National Center for State Land Use Planning, affiliated with the Council of Ministers, held its 80th meeting. The meeting was chaired by Alaa El-Din Farouk Zaki, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation and Chairman of the Board, and attended by Major General Nasser Fawzy Muhammad, Director of the Center, along with other board members. Participants joined the meeting both in person at the Center's new headquarters in the New Administrative Capital and via video conference.
The board reviewed several development projects focused on maximizing the use of state lands. The Center's Director stated that the state is committed to comprehensive development plans for the northwestern coast region, in line with presidential directives to establish a strategic plan for development projects in the area. These plans include reallocating land to resettle the Al-Qura and Al-Qonayshat tribes, and allocating agricultural and grazing lands for those displaced by the Ras Al-Hikma development project in Matrouh Governorate.
Major General Dr. Nasser Fawzy also emphasized the
importance of the "Decent Life" initiative, the state's largest
project focused on improving the quality of life for rural Egyptians,
especially the most vulnerable. In support of this initiative, the board
approved the allocation of state-owned land for development projects in Upper
Egypt governorates.
Following presidential directives to expand commercial and
logistical zones, streamline goods circulation, and improve storage, the
following has been approved:
Silos will be built on 11.77 acres in Malawi Center (Minya
Governorate) and 12.83 acres in Al-Hamoul Center (Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate)
for the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade,
Two plots in Sadat City will be repurposed from land
reclamation to logistical services, creating a dry port and logistical zone for
the Ministry of Transport.
456 acres have been allocated for development in Aswan and
Minya Governorates, supporting the handover of desert hinterland villages,
Several plots will be allocated to the Ministry of
Agriculture (Egypt Future for Sustainable Development agency) in Dokki, Haram,
and Giza, pending presidential decrees,
Varying-sized plots along the "Mahmoud Nasr" road will be allocated to the Ministry of Civil Aviation, with the National Center finalizing presidential decrees.
