Prime Minister Dr. Moustafa Madbouly held a meeting today, Tuesday, to discuss solutions for the ongoing electricity outage problem. The focus was on mitigating the impact through reduced load shedding and reach radical solutions to the crisis.
The meeting was attended by Minister
of Electricity and Renewable Energy Dr. Mohamed Shaker El-Markabi, Minister of Petroleum
and Mineral Resources Tarek El-Mulla, Chairman of the Egyptian Electricity
Holding Company, Engineer Gaber Desouki, Chairman of the Egyptian Natural Gas
Holding Company Engineer Yassin Mohamed, and a number of officials from the
relevant authorities.
At the beginning of the meeting,
the Prime Minister affirmed that the government is fully aware of the
dimensions of the current crisis related to power cuts to reduce loads, and
that there have been efforts during the past period. The state, with its
various concerned agencies, is working to end this crisis as soon as possible,
he said.
He highlighted President
El-Sisi's directives to prioritize a swift resolution, including reducing load
shedding periods. The Prime Minister stressed the urgency of finding solutions
and confirmed that the government is working collaboratively with relevant
ministries and agencies to implement effective mechanisms that will bring a
permanent end to this crisis.
The meeting delved into a review
of several recently implemented measures designed to alleviate the power cuts.
These actions are expected to significantly contribute to resolving the issue
entirely.
Dr. Madbouly subsequently
delivered a televised address to the nation, outlining the full scope of
the problem and the government's comprehensive plan to address it.
