Egypt targets $500M from expat housing initiative

Minister of Housing, Utilities, and New Urban Communities, Sherif El Sherbiny, announced the ministry's goal to generate $500 million through the 'Your Home in Egypt' initiative.

At the initiative's launch press conference held at the Ministry of Housing headquarters in the New Administrative Capital on Sunday, Minister El Sherbiny reported that the 'Your Home in Egypt' website saw 10,000 registrations within 48 hours, with $2.5 million already transferred.

He further stated that registrants from Egyptians living abroad represent 68 countries, with Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Kuwait leading in participation.

The minister detailed that down payments are set at $5,000 for apartments and $10,000 for villas. He emphasized the initiative's flexible payment plans, extending up to 10 years, and the wide distribution of units across numerous fourth-generation cities and prime locations in Egypt.
