Supply Minister: Cairo Schools Exhibition set for September 5th

Dr. Sherif Farouk, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, announced that the ministry is committed to providing various forms of support and contributing to easing the burden on Egyptian families through the establishment and expansion of permanent and specialized commodity exhibitions.

This statement was made during Dr. Farouk's visit to the Cairo Chamber of Commerce, where he met with the Board of Directors, members from the various commercial divisions, and exhibitors at the main "Welcome to Schools" exhibition, held in the hall of the Small, Medium and Micro Enterprise Development Authority in Nasr City. The exhibition is scheduled to begin at the end of this week.

The ministry is preparing to announce the launch of the 'Welcome Schools' exhibitions, including the main exhibition in Cairo Governorate and branch exhibitions in other governorates. These exhibitions will offer a wide range of school supplies and tools at discounted prices compared to market rates, with the participation of major private and public sector companies.

It has been decided to establish a main exhibition in each governorate, in addition to branch exhibitions in cities and centers across all governorates, in coordination with the governors. Additionally, the main exhibition scheduled to be held at the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority hall, which we are discussing today, will take place under the kind patronage of the Prime Minister.

The Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade, in collaboration with the Ministries of Local Development and Commerce, as well as relevant chambers and branches, will participate in a series of exhibitions nationwide. The main event is scheduled to take place from September 5th to 20th. In line with the Prime Minister's directives, these exhibitions will serve as permanent platforms for offering discounted goods and services to the public throughout the year at the governorate level. The product offerings will be tailored to seasonal needs and special occasions, ensuring ongoing collaboration between the Ministries of Supply and Internal Trade, Local Development, and the governors.

The main exhibition will include a range of essential services:

-School Supplies: A comprehensive range of school supplies will be available at discounted prices, encompassing clothing, shoes, bags, uniforms, stationery, and other necessary items.

-Essential Food Items: Basic food staples will be offered at reduced rates within the exhibition.

-Electronic Devices: A variety of electronic gadgets will be available for purchase.

This year's exhibition will introduce several new services:

-Postal Services: The National Post Authority will be participating, providing postal services to visitors.

-Mobile Companies: A selection of leading mobile phone companies will be present at the exhibition.

-Financial Solutions: Companies offering various financial solutions will be participating.

-Food Industries Holding Company: A prominent pavilion will be dedicated to showcasing the products and services of companies affiliated with the Food Industries Holding Company.

All relevant departments within the Ministry of Supply and its affiliated bodies have been directed to closely monitor and coordinate with all stakeholders to ensure the seamless operation of exhibitions across the governorates. They are also responsible for addressing any challenges that may arise during the exhibition period and providing comprehensive support to visitors.

Ayman El-Ashry, Chairman of the Cairo Chamber of Commerce, expressed deep gratitude to the Egyptian leadership, headed by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, for their unwavering support in organizing the 'Welcome Schools' exhibitions. He emphasized that this initiative aims to ease the financial burden on Egyptian citizens as the new school year commences.

El-Ashry also extended his sincere thanks to Prime Minister Dr. Moustafa Madbouly under whose patronage the exhibitions are being held. He expressed particular appreciation to Dr. Sherif Farouk, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, and his delegation for their timely visit to the Cairo Chamber. This visit provided an opportunity for the minister to meet with Chamber members and exhibitors, fostering collaboration and ensuring the exhibition's success.

He emphasized the significant societal impact of the “Welcome Schools” exhibition. He explained that the event serves as a platform for traders to fulfill their social responsibility by offering a wide range of high-quality goods at competitive prices. This initiative aims to alleviate the financial burden on Egyptian citizens during the new school year and provide essential supplies.

El-Ashry highlighted the multifaceted cooperation between the Cairo Chamber of Commerce and the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade. This collaboration encompasses the joint organization of seasonal exhibitions, including “Welcome Schools,” and ongoing efforts to stabilize prices and ensure market equilibrium. He emphasized the need for further collaboration to deliver social and economic services that align with the objectives of the state's development plans.

He noted that true sustainable development requires a collective effort from all government agencies and the private sector. He viewed the Minister of Supply's visit to the Cairo Chamber as a positive step towards achieving these goals. He emphasized the need for increased cooperation and concerted efforts to reduce prices and stabilize the market, which are key objectives for the future.
