Dr. Sameh El-Hefny, Minister of Civil Aviation, met with officials from China Energy's Jizuba Group Limited, specialized in the field of building, construction and infrastructure projects worldwide. The meeting discussed potential collaboration on a logistics cargo city at Cairo International Airport. This meeting aligns with Egypt's broader strategy to increase private sector involvement in civil aviation and enhance the country's position as a regional logistics hub.
Jizuba Group presented its vision for a world-class cargo
city at Cairo International Airport, similar to successful models in other
global airports. The project aims to meet growing demand for air freight
services and solidify Egypt's role as a connector between continents.
The minister listened to the vision and proposals of the
Chinese company about the possibility of their cooperation with the civil
aviation sector, expressed appreciation for China's ongoing cooperation with
Egypt and emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral economic ties. He
noted that Egypt would carefully consider Jizuba Group's proposals and explore
ways to maximize the benefits of such a partnership in all fields.
He added that he would complete the study and discussion of
certain aspects and dimensions with the Egyptian team responsible for
coordination in this area. This would lay a crucial foundation for achieving
the desired outcome, in a way that enhances the capabilities of the Egyptian civil aviation sector in the field of air freight, so that
Egypt becomes Africa’s first gateway to global trade movement.
The Group also expressed its keen interest in contributing to the development of Egypt's civil aviation sector. The company highlighted its desire to leverage its expertise and technology to support the government's modernization efforts and create new opportunities for growth. It is keen to liberalize the set of cooperation frameworks, including the technological development goals adopted by the government in the current period.
