During the joint Egyptian-Romanian committee and business forum in Bucharest, Egypt's petroleum sector, represented by the Egyptian Natural Gas Distribution Company 'Town Gas,' signed agreements to implement local manufacturing projects for natural gas pressure reduction stations in Egypt and to deliver natural gas to homes and other facilities in Romania.
This followed Town Gas, a
subsidiary of the petroleum sector, receiving accreditation from the Romanian
National Regulatory Authority (ANRE) as a contractor to implement natural gas
distribution projects. Town Gas becomes the first Egyptian company to operate
in this field in Europe.
The signing of the contracts was
witnessed by Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of Planning and International
Cooperation; Stefan Radu, Romanian Minister of Economy and Tourism; and Engineer
Yassin Mohammed, Executive Managing Director of the Egyptian Natural Gas
Holding Company, on behalf of Engineer Karim Badawy, Minister of Petroleum and
Mineral Resources.
The contract was signed by
Engineer Mohamed Fathi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Town Gas, and
Sebastian Calugar, CEO of CIS GAS Romania.
The joint Egyptian-Romanian
committee for economic cooperation had previously held its
meetings. The business forum between the two countries also took place at the
Chamber of Commerce in Bucharest, where Engineer Yassin Mohammed, Executive
Managing Director of the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company EGAS, delivered a
speech highlighting the significant development in cooperation with the
Romanian side in the field of natural gas.
This cooperation has evolved into a strategic partnership based on the strong relationship and extensive experience of Egyptian natural gas distribution companies and their skilled personnel, which qualify them to participate in natural gas distribution projects outside Egypt. He emphasized that our Romanian partners, represented by Transgaz and Ciz Gas companies, have established distinguished cooperative relationships with us that have developed into strategic partnerships.
