Mohamed Ghanem, the Egyptian Ambassador to Finland, met with Birgit Nevala, Director of the Finnish Partnership Program at the Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and a program of the government-owned FinnFund. The meeting took place ahead of the program representatives' visit to Cairo to participate in the Doing Business with Finland Forum, scheduled for the end of this month under the auspices of the Finnish Embassy.
The forum will focus on
cooperation in the fields of health, pharmaceuticals, education, information
and communication technology, and the supply of food and agricultural products,
aligning with the Egyptian government's 'Start' initiative for industrial
development.
The meeting focused on
identifying potential areas of collaboration between Egypt and Finland, with a
particular emphasis on boosting investment and trade partnerships.
Egypt reiterated its commitment
to economic cooperation and supporting youth entrepreneurship. The meeting
explored ways to foster trade partnerships, provide financing for youth
projects, and strengthen connections between Egyptian and Finnish startups.
The Finnish Partnership Program offers grants of up to €400,000 to Finnish companies collaborating with Egyptian private sector firms on projects in renewable energy, digital infrastructure, or agricultural product imports. This initiative aims to foster cooperation and support sustainable development.
