Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, Dr. Assem El-Gazzar, revealed that the "Maskan" housing program's fourth phase for small residential plots has garnered a significant response, with over 131,000 preliminary reservations received for the 1,747 plots available.
Announced on Tuesday, the
electronic reservation window opened on April 1st, 2024 and will close on
Thursday, May 30th, 2024.
He highlighted the overwhelming
public interest in new city development, citing it as a testament to the
government's successful strategy. These cities are envisioned as hubs for
business and entrepreneurship.
He pointed out that in New Nasser
City (West Asyut), preliminary reservations for premium lands surpassed 11,000.
New Minya City reached 30,000 preliminary reservations for medium-sized plots,
reflecting a surge in interest for Upper Egypt's new cities. Badr City exceeded
23,000 preliminary reservations for medium-sized lands, signifying the positive
ripple effect of the New Administrative Capital on surrounding areas in East
Cairo.
The Minister indicated that the
fourth offering includes 1,747 plots of land, distributed on the different
housing axes as follows: 65 plots of
land on the axis of the most distinguished lands in the cities of: 6th of
October - 15 May - Shorouk - 10th of Ramadan; 826 plots of land on the axis of
distinguished lands in the cities of: New Borg El Arab - New Nasser
"West Asiut" - New Malawy - New Fashn - New Akhmim; 856 plots of land
on the axis of medium-sized lands in the cities of: Sadat - New Minya -
New Asyut - Badr - West Qena - New Luxor.
Dr. Walid Abbas, Deputy Chairman
of the New Urban Communities Authority for Planning and Projects, Supervisor of
the Minister of Housing's Office, announced that over 10,000 people have
already submitted payment receipts to secure land in the latest offering. This
initiative reflects the New Urban Communities Authority's commitment to
providing easier access to small residential plots through the booking website
(https://reserve.newcities.gov.eg/)
This is in order to provide land
for citizens who wish to build their own homes, permanently and easily, without
any priority, whether to enter the site, transfer the seriousness of the
reservation, or book a plot of land.
The official highlighted the
program's popularity with over 265,000 registered accounts on the "Maskan"
website. Booking is straightforward:
Those who wish to book have to:
1- Create a new account for new customers, fill in the required
data such as the national ID number, the name from the national ID card, the
email address, the mobile number and the current address.
2- Choose the axis and the city and choose the location, click on
the word "Details" to display a list of all available plots of land: sketches
and a detailed table.
3- Complete the booking procedures explained in detail on the site,
including: entering the payment currency for the remaining land price and
entering the completion percentage for the remaining land price, and even
extracting the booking form that includes all the data listed by the booker,
and it is signed, and attached after signing on the website, as well as
attaching a booking fee receipt and study expenses.
He explained the website's
features for booking prime land (most distinguished plots): bookers can see how
many others are interested in a specific plot. In case of congestion on one
plot of land, payment in US dollars (deposited at least 60 days prior) gets
priority.
For all other plots
(distinguished & medium):The booking goes to the applicant offering the
highest percentage payment towards the remaining land price and in case of a
tie, a public lottery will determine the winner.
The Vice President of the
Authority for Planning and Projects affirmed that the chosen payment method and
completion percentage cannot be modified after paying the value of the seriousness
for each axis (EGP 350,000 for the most distinguished plots, EGP 100,000 for
the distinguished plots, EGP 25,000 for the medium plots). It will be
confidential until the booking period ends.
The Authority will electronically
review applications within days of closing the booking window and notify you of
the results shortly thereafter.
