During his visit to Spain, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Hassan El Khatib, met with Javier Bray Sanchez, President of the Spanish Hydrogen Association, and other members to discuss investment opportunities in Egypt's hydrogen production sector.
Minister El Khatib emphasized Egypt's attractive investment climate for hydrogen projects, highlighting the country's commitment to green energy and its potential to become a key regional and global energy exporter. He assured the association members of the ministry's full support for their investments in Egypt.
The meeting provided an overview of the Spanish Hydrogen
Association's activities. The association represents 430 member companies
involved in hydrogen and related industries, including renewable energy
developers, equipment manufacturers, engineering firms, oil and gas companies,
and the transportation sector.
Following the meeting, it was agreed that a delegation of member
companies would visit Egypt to explore hydrogen production investment
opportunities and meet with research centers, universities, and relevant
stakeholders.
El Khatib also briefed the attendees on Egypt's ongoing
financial, monetary, and trade policies designed to facilitate investments and
streamline foreign trade.
Javier Bray Sanchez, President of the Spanish Hydrogen Association, praised Egypt's potential for hydrogen production, particularly within the Suez Canal Economic Zone, citing its competitive advantages and pricing. He also noted upcoming EU decisions that could further incentivize hydrogen production. Sanchez highlighted Spain's focus on developing its port infrastructure to support the increasing demand for hydrogen.
