Minister follows up on chemical sector development projects

Engineer Mohamed Shimi, Minister of Public Business Sector, held an extensive meeting with the heads of companies affiliated with the Holding Company for Chemical Industries, to follow up on the performance of the companies, discuss recent business results, and review the status of projects and future work plans.

During the meeting, the Minister emphasized the importance of the chemical industries sector as a fundamental pillar of the national economy, especially in the field of fertilizers, stressing the need to adhere to project implementation timelines, develop marketing policies, and comply with quality and occupational safety standards.

The Minister also pointed out the Ministry's interest in enhancing local manufacturing and reducing dependence on imports, through the implementation of projects in the chemical industries sector, aimed at developing production lines, adding new lines, improving operational efficiency, attracting investments, and strengthening partnerships with the private sector.

The meeting reviewed a number of important projects, including establishing nitric acid and ammonium nitrate plants at KIMA Company in Aswan, reviving and operating Delta Fertilizers Company in Dakahlia, rehabilitating the ammonia compressor at Al-Nasr Fertilizers Company in Suez, the green ammonia plant project in partnership with the private sector, the chlorine granules production plant project at Egypt Chemical Industries Company, the pre-stressed iron wire (PC Wire) production project at SICOART Company, the conveyor belt factory development project at Narobin Company, adding new products at the Springs and Transportation Equipment Company, and producing brake shoes for metro and railway cars.

The meeting was attended by Chemist Saad Abul-Maati, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Holding Company for Chemical Industries, and Accountant Emad El-Din Moustafa, Managing Director and CEO of the Holding Company.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Minister directed the continuation of efforts to enhance the performance of affiliated companies, raise their operational and financial efficiency, and invest in modern technology, to achieve sustainable development.
