Alaa Farouk, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, and Dr. Bahaa El-Ghannam, Chairman of the Egypt Future for Sustainable Development Authority, visited the Egypt Future South Project in East Oweinat. This comes as part of the fruitful cooperation between the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation and the Egypt Future for Sustainable Development Authority, in implementation of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
The Minister and the Authority's Chairman conducted an extensive two-day tour of the project, inspecting the progress of work and implementation rates. They praised the tangible progress achieved as part of the state's efforts to achieve sustainable agricultural development and enhance food security.
On the sidelines of the visit, both
officials were keen to share the iftar meal with civilian workers, including
engineers and technicians, the heroes of the Armed Forces, including officers
and soldiers, and all project workers in an atmosphere that reflects the spirit
of solidarity and integration among all elements working on national projects.
During the visit, Dr. Bahaa El-Ghannam
emphasized the importance of continuing diligent work and exerting maximum
effort to achieve desired goals, contributing to supporting the national
economy, creating real job opportunities, and advancing comprehensive
development across the country. For his part, the Minister of Agriculture
stated that cooperation with the Future of Egypt Authority aims to enhance food
security by increasing agricultural land. The Authority has already reclaimed
200,000 acres of a total area of 650,000 acres reclaimed and cultivated on
the East El-Oweinat-Dakhla Road in the New Valley Governorate.
Farouk added that coordination and
cooperation with the Future of Egypt for Sustainable Development Agency is
ongoing and fruitful, and that this also complements the tours with Dr. El-Ghannam,
head of the agency, which began last Saturday with a visit to the Sakha Seed
Complex in Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate. The complex will be developed in
cooperation with the agency and linked to all seed stations nationwide as part
of the digitalization system to serve farmers and enhance food security.
It's also worth noting that Prime Minister Dr. Moustafa Madbouly issued a decree licensing the Ministry of Agriculture and the General Authority for Reconstruction Projects and Agricultural Development, in partnership with the Egypt Future for Sustainable Development Agency, to establish an Egyptian joint-stock company called "Digital Tree," whose purpose is to work in the field of digitalization of agriculture in Egypt.
